am Simona Lazăr, human rights advocate, community leader, and CEO of Union Romani Voice, a non-profit organization based in the UK that has supported over 9,500 Romanians and Roma people in the last decade. My work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, justice, and equal opportunities, regardless of their background.

With a background in social work and community development, and over 15 years of experience across Romania, Spain, and the UK, I have dedicated my career to building bridges between marginalized communities and public institutions.

Currently, I am preparing for my internship with the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe (October 2025 – February 2026), where I will contribute to strengthening human rights protection across Europe.

My professional focus includes:

Beyond my NGO work, I actively engage in research, public speaking, and policy dialogue at national and European level, amplifying the voices of Roma and migrant communities.

This website is a space to share my projects, ideas, and advocacy work for a more just and inclusive society.
